Our Mission

The Australian Veterinary Virtual Care Association (AVVCA) exists to advance the safe, ethical, and effective use of telehealth and telemedicine in veterinary practice.

We are committed to:

  • Improving access to care for pet owners across Australia, ensuring animals receive guidance and support when they need it most.

  • Educating and supporting veterinarians, veterinary nurses and providers with resources, training, and best practice frameworks for delivering high-quality virtual care.

  • Establishing standards of excellence that protect animal welfare while embracing innovation in veterinary medicine.

  • Advocating for the profession by working with regulators, insurers, and industry partners to shape fair policies that reflect the future of care.

Through collaboration, education, and leadership, AVVCA is building a trusted foundation for veterinary virtual care - ensuring it benefits pets, pet owners, and the veterinary profession alike.
